Aquila
computer services are offering a free course called First Time Online,
a new online learning and assessment package that UK online Centres
(such as Aquila) can offer to learners. Below you can find out more
information about the package, and how to register.
First Time Online is a resource for use in UK online centres.
It's
aim is to widen participation in learning, by creating a flow of
progression-ready learners to post-16 education providers, including
learndirect.
First Time Online comprises of :
First Time Online taster- a custom-built 'dip-in' taster package enabling learners to acquire and try out basic ICT skills
e-skills passport- an ICT skills check
learndirect Initial Assessment- a literacy and numeracy skills check
Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG)- a procedure to help learners move on, based on their interests, needs, assessment results and preferred methods of learning
Referral - directing learners to learning opportunities either within the centre
or with another provider (eg learndirect, local college)
Progression tracking- an easy-to-use system for recording achievements and monitoring your centre's success.
